The gel packs in our Semen Analysis kits are designed to keep your sample at an optimal temperature during the overnight transport back to our lab in San Leandro, CA.

They work best if you don't handle them at all, so please leave the gel pack exactly where it is in your kit. There is no need to remove it to put it in the refrigerator or freezer, even if it's not cold.

In the event that your gel pack does get removed, simply place it back inside your kit beneath the insert and specimen container as pictured below. Don't be surprised if it's a bit stiff! The texture of the gel pack will change depending on the environment it is in, ranging from solid around 60°F, gravely, gel-like, and finally liquid around 80°F.
