Is your Vasectomy Test the same as your Semen Analysis Test?
Is your Vasectomy Test the same as your Semen Analysis Test?

No, these tests are different because they have different goals. It is important that you choose the right test, or let us know before collecting your sample if it looks like you may have received the wrong one.

Our Vasectomy Test only looks for the presence of sperm. We will report on the volume of your sample, and if sperm are found, the overall cell count, and the concentration of cells per mL. No other parameters are reported on, even if sperm cells are found in the sample. This test should only be purchased if you are looking to test the success of your vasectomy procedure.

On the other hand, our Semen Analysis Test looks at how many sperm are in a sample and how healthy they are (based on a number of different metrics). This test is more complicated and time sensitive, and therefore slightly more expensive. You should use this test if you are interested in learning more about your fertility health, which includes checking in after a vasectomy reversal.
