Think of your kit's barcode ID as its unique name. This is how all of our internal teams identify each kit to ensure that we are keeping all of our customers' Personally Identifiable Information (PII) private.

Every kit that returns to our lab must be registered before we can release results. You will need your barcode ID to complete registration, so it is a good idea to take care of this step around the same time that you collect your sample but before you close up your kit and drop it off at UPS. Your barcode ID will be a 7-9 digit long number just beside the scannable barcode on your collection container.

Life happens, so don't worry if you forget to register your kit before sealing up your sample. If you forgot to write your barcode ID down, you should be able to find it by logging in to your Fellow portal. It should either auto-populate in your registration form once you are logged in, or you can view this in the top left corner of your kit card just under the kit type (example below).

❄️ ☃️ CRYO CUSTOMERS - if you wish to begin cryopreservation storage but your sample arrives at our lab before it is registered, we will not be able to store your sample. Our lab team needs to know that your sample should be stored prior to receiving the kit back. Otherwise, our standard process is to destroy a sample immediately after analysis to maintain our customers' privacy and for the safety of our lab technicians.
