Think of your kit's barcode ID as its unique name. This is how all of our internal teams identify each kit to ensure that we are keeping all of our customers' Personally Identifiable Information (PII) private.
Your kit's barcode ID can be easily located for registration purposes. It is printed directly on the sample cup used for specimen collection. Handle this cup with care to avoid damaging the barcode and ensure you note it down for later use during the registration process.
Every kit that returns to our lab must be registered before we can release results. You will need your barcode ID to complete registration, so it is a good idea to take care of this step around the same time that you collect your sample but before you close up your kit and drop it off at UPS. Your barcode ID will be a 7-9 digit long number just beside the scannable barcode on your collection container.
To register your kit, follow these steps:
Locate the barcode printed on the sample cup.
Register your kit by scanning the QR code on your kit instructions sheet, or by visiting https://you.meetfellow.com/register/barcode/.
Follow the on-screen instructions to input your barcode ID correctly and link your kit to your account.
Troubleshooting Barcode Errors:
Double-check the barcode ID to ensure it is entered exactly as printed on the sample cup.
Confirm that you are using the correct email associated with your Fellow Health account, when logging in before registering.
If you continue encountering issues, please let our Fellow support team know. Our support team is ready to assist you with resolving barcode-related challenges effectively.
Life happens, and we understand that you may forget to register your kit before sealing up your sample. In tis case, please make sure you log in to your account and register as soon as possible. If you forgot to write your barcode ID down, you should be able to find it by logging in to your Fellow portal, and you can view this in the top left corner of your kit card just under the kit type (example below).
Additionally, if we receive your kit at the lab and it is not registered yet - if we have your contact information on file, we will send you an email to notify you to register. There will be a link in the email that takes you to your Fellow account to login and then direct you to register. By clicking the link in this email, it should also auto-populate your specimen barcode ID within your registration form.
โ๏ธ โ๏ธ CRYO CUSTOMERS - if you wish to begin cryopreservation storage but your sample arrives at our lab before it is registered, we will not be able to store your sample. Our lab team needs to know that your sample should be stored prior to receiving the kit back. Otherwise, our standard process is to destroy a sample immediately after analysis to maintain our customers' privacy and for the safety of our lab technicians.
